A dedicated team of care workers, support workers, ability promoters, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, social workers, physicians, domestic staff, maintenance staff and clerical staff all work together to achieve our goals. Courses in various fields are given periodically to staff as they seek to upgrade the quality of life for all our residents. The benefits that our residents enjoy during their stay as the Homes are various. These include therapeutic, medical and educational care provided with love by a dedicated and professional staff. Id-Dar helps the residents to develop spiritually, mentally and physically, at the same time facilitating their smooth inclusion into the Maltese society. During the year Id-Dar organizes various activities which include an Open Day, Mixjamaratona (marathon), The Christmas Sale and Kuluri Ferrieha (Happy Colours), a colourful musical activity involving Government and non-Government organizations involved in the welfare of persons with disabilities. Premju Mons. Azzopardi is a national award given annually by Id-Dar tal-Providenza to persons who distinguish themselves in the welfare of persons with disabilities. This award was launched on the 2nd of December 1995 on the occasion of the 30th anniversary from the foundation of the homes. Mrs Gemma Mifsud Bonnici, wife of H.E. Dr Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, than President of Malta, presented the award to Mrs Mari Lowell, the first recipient, on the 2nd of December 1995. |
