Information
The Ajax-Pickering Navy League Branch is a branch of the Navy League of Canada organization. The mandate of the branch is to provide a forum where children and young people between the ages of nine and eighteen can learn valuable skills that they will carry throughout their young and adult lives.

The Branch sponsors the R.C.S.C. Harwood Sea Cadet Corps and the N.L.C.C. Exeter Navy League Corps as well as the Navy League Band.

The cadets program provides many opportunities for self-improvement as well as learning valuable skills. This will help young people both during their scholastic years and as adults when they join the workforce.

Some of the skills learned by cadets include:

  • Leadership
  • Semaphore
  • Teamwork
  • Seamanship
  • First Aid
  • Drill
  • Sailing
  • Music

Cadets also have the opportunity to meet other Corps from across Canada at Flotilla, Provincial and National competitions. They can also participate in camps sponsored by the Navy League of Canada.

The cadets are supervised and instructed by retired and active service personnel, school teachers, senior cadets, and qualified civilian instructors.

The cadet corps are supported by a civilian committee (the Branch) made up of parents and other volunteers interested in the Navy League Program.
