St. Paul The Apostle
Maltese-Canadian Parish

Today I wish to dedicate this article to all the sponsors who have supported our parish community. Without their help many of our ongoing activities would not be possible. Believe me the list is long and I will try not to leave anyone out since every contribution is important. However, if you notice that someone left out please inform me.

At the outset, I would like to acknowledge all of the parishioners who consistently contribute in the weekly collections through the envelope plan or otherwise. These contributions are very important for our church. These funds enable us to run the church efficiently and keep it in good shape. Besides these monetary contributions, periodically, we even receive flower donations around Christmas time and Easter. This embellishes our church and serves to create an appropriate warm environment. Your response has always been excellent. Thank you all!

I would also like to acknowledge the support of our two major Maltese banks – the Bank of Valletta and HSBC. These two banks through their representatives have continuously supported our activities in the Church as well as the Maltese community. As we develop needs for sponsorships and donations they have generously given to our major cause of building a cohesive community. Their support has enhanced the quality of our activities, fund-raisers and general community spirit. Thank you for sharing with us.

The Malta Bakeshop has also supported our activities through their discounted prices, free pastizzi /pastries, as well as vouchers and other things. This support has helped us organize our children’s activity as well as major community events. Melita Travel has also supported us consistently by providing us with timely vouchers for free flights to Malta. We would also like to thank our culinary team from the Kitchen Experience, who among other things helped to organize some fund-raising events. Thank you all for your thoughtfulness and support.

The next set of contributors includes the Vaughan Janitorial Services who have donated gift baskets, Bertolli Pasta for their delicious pasta as well as Starlite Courier Express for their contributions towards our fund-raising lotteries. All of these companies have supported us through their donations and gifts to our fundraising activities. Thank you for your interest in our community.

Lynett’s Funeral Home has always been helpful throughout the years through their donations around Christmas time for the crib competition and lately with their contribution towards the statue of ST. PAUL THE APOSTLE at Assumption Cemetery. In this vein we would also like to thank the Management team from Assumption Cemetery for sharing with us the expense of the same statue. Thank you all so much.

Le Taporte Banquet Hall every year sends us boxes of flowers around Easter and Christmas time. Every year we also borrow their equipment for our Christmas Banquet. Thank you for your help.

Vic-Van Mechanical, Mosta Electric and Keystone Woodworks have often provided us with free services. In many situations they respond to us very quickly during emergencies. Thank you for your great service.

Although our Maltese media, L-Ahbar (newspaper) and Il-Lehen Malti (TV program) are not business, yet they should be acknowledged too since they provide us with an opportunity to reach the larger community. They also facilitate my pastoral role in trying to spread the good news of the Lord, plus they promote our ongoing activities among our community in the GTA. Thank you both for your coverage of our community. It helps a great deal to have your dedication.

Camilleri Photography and Sam Cassar Video have both been involved with our events and have provided us with their services as we grow meaningfully into a community. Thank you both.

Intiss designed, administers and hosts our web page. Thanks to Wilfred L. Camilleri for his effort.

I would also like to thank the Maltese Federation and all the Maltese Clubs in Toronto and other cities for their interest and generous contributions. Our Outreach Programs have also taken off in the clubs due to their genuine interest. Special thanks to the Malta Band Club that take the time to come out and perform at our major activities at no cost. At this time we would also like to thank the Toronto Police Force who have supported us in our major events. Once again thank you.

There are a number of individuals who have also helped us by asking the companies they work for to support our parish community. Sometimes this translates into facilitating various equipment, donations or items needed for the church. We would like to thank these individuals for their interest.

Needless to say we also have to thank all of our sponsors for supporting our Bulletin Advertisements. Without them the church bulletin would not be possible. Please do support our sponsors.

Please note that the scope of this exercise is simply to demonstrate to you the important of working together as a community. At this stage I felt that our major contributors should be publicly acknowledged for their support and interest in our community. Without them it is difficult to run the parish. As always there is also the risk of inadvertently forgetting someone’s name. If this has happened my sincere apologies. On a more positive note though, let me say that it definitely makes my life easier when I look around me and see this kind of support. It tells me that people are interested and they care for each other.

One more time I would like to thank all the benefactors of this community on behalf of Fr. Dominic Cachia, Fr. Joe Cremona, and myself, Superior General of our Society. Together with my brothers of the Missionary Society of Saint Paul I commit myself to working with you to the best of my ability as together, and with the help of God we create a spiritually mature community. The best way to thank you all is to remember each one of you daily in our prayers as we journey together in this year of Jubilee. The "Doors" are open, let us use them. Welcome to ST. PAUL THE APOSTLE Church!

May God bless you all as you share bountifully.
